Fees and Refunds

A separate registration on the USA Hockey Web site is required for ALL players. Players born before 1/1/2004 must also make a separate payment of the $35 USA Hockey fee by credit card on the USA Hockey Web site. All USA Hockey fees are in addition to BYH program fees.

Discounts

Family Discount: If more than two players in the same family are registered, only the two oldest players pay program fees; the other players in that family participate at no cost.

Financial Aid: A limited amount of financial aid is available to families in need. To request financial aid, send a letter describing the need to the Financial Aid Committee at our address. A committee consisting of the president, treasurer, and registrar considers all financial aid requests in confidence.

Practice-Only Players: Some members of travel teams may be designated practice-only players. These players participate in practices but not in games. Such players receive discounts determined by the president and treasurer.

Enforcement Policies

The Brookline Youth Hockey board has established the following policies, which are strictly enforced:

3/1/10	No travel-team player will be allowed to try out unless all fees due by this date have been paid.
5/1/10	No travel-team player will be assigned to a team unless all fees due by this date have been paid.
9/1/10	No travel-team player will be allowed to participate in games or practices unless all fees due by this date have been paid and the player has registered with USA Hockey.
11/1/10	No instructional player will be allowed to participate in games or practices unless all fees due by this date have been paid and the player has registered with USA Hockey.

Refunds

If a player withdraws from a Brookline Youth Hockey program, a prorated refund may be available, depending on the player's team and date of withdrawal.

Note: If a player tries out for a Mite or Squirt team but is assigned to the instructional program, all fees paid at the time of team assignment are credited to the instructional fee, and any payment in excess of the instructional fee is refunded. If such a player withdraws from the instructional program before 12/1/10, BYH retains $100 of the instructional fee and refunds up to $200 (for Ice Mice) or $275 (for House League). If such a player withdraws on or after 12/1/10, the Ice Mice or House League refund policy (below) applies.
