OUR PROGRAMS
At Brookline Youth Hockey, we are dedicated to providing a community-focused home for the sport of hockey, bringing together families from Brookline and beyond to develop skills, teamwork, and a lifelong love for the game
From our Learn-to-Play sessions to our Travel Hockey programs, BYH offers a place for every athlete. Hockey is more than just a game; it builds fitness, coordination, and strategic thinking while fostering the teamwork and strength that stay with players for a lifetime.
BYH Travel Hockey
Our travel program offers competitive play in the Valley Hockey League for our Mites, Squirts, Peewees, Bantams, and Midgets. Our girls' teams, U12, U14, and U18, play in the Middlesex Yankee Conference Girls' Hockey League. The season runs from September through March. We provide a comprehensive development environment, including team practices, professional skills training, and goalie clinics at no extra cost.

Weekly Commitment
Travel players can expect a weekly schedule designed to balance skill building and competition:
2 Team Practices | Focus on team play and individual skills.
1 Professional Skills Session | High-level individual development.
1–2 Games | Competitive league play (typically weekends).
While we encourage our players to be multi-sport athletes, we ask that hockey be the primary focus during the winter months.
BYH Learn-to-Play
Our Learn-to-Play Program runs from December to March, featuring twice-weekly sessions at the scenic outdoor Jack Kirrane Rink and the state-of-the-art indoor Warrior Ice Arena. It’s the ideal foundation. After just one season, most players are ready to transition into travel hockey!
Bruins Learn-to-Play Partnership
If you're new to the sport, the best way to get started is through our partnership with the Boston Bruins Learn-to-Play Program. Players ages 5-10 receive a full set of hockey equipment to keep. Includes four specialized lessons to build foundational skills. Choose from an all-player session in the fall or a girls-only session in the spring.
