Financial Aid

This outlines the Brookline Youth Hockey Association’s financial aid, including eligibility requirements and the application process. It provides clear guidance for families seeking financial assistance.

Brookline Youth Hockey Association (BYH) is committed to making hockey accessible to all families in our community. We understand that cost can be a barrier, and we believe every child should have the opportunity to play. BYH provides financial assistance to families facing hardship by covering part of registration and season tuition fees.

Financial Need: Scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated financial need. All requests are reviewed exclusively by the BYH Registrar and Treasurer. We handle every application with the utmost care, and all information provided is kept strictly confidential.  

Residency: Applicants must live within the town of Brookline.

1. Before registering for the season, submit the Financial Assistance Request below. Applications must be completed thoroughly to help us assess eligibility. Please note: registration fees paid before receiving a scholarship award will not be refunded.

2. Application Review: BYH Registrar and Treasurer will review applications confidentially. Awards are based on financial need and funding availability.

3. Notification of Award: Applicants will be notified via email within 1-2 business days of submission if possible. Families are encouraged to apply early; late applications may not be processed in time for the start of the season.

4. Financial Aid Awards may include full or partial registration fees. Scholarships do not cover equipment, uniforms, travel, or other expenses.

• The BYH scholarship program is intended to support temporary financial hardship situations.
• Scholarships are not designed to cover the full cost of hockey for a player’s entire tenure (which may span 10+ years).
• Please use this benefit when truly needed so we can continue to support as many families as possible.
